You do not need permission from a publisher to add the metadata of your scholarship (citation, author information, links, ect.) to Athena. While the repository greatly benefits from the submission of open-access to scholarly materials, you are not required to provide a full-text article or other scholarship with your citation submission. If you are in question about your rights as an author in sharing your work, the library would suggest contacting the publisher directly.
